Download a new guide for valuable insights and technical specifications.

Therma 22FC™ is Outokumpu's customized solution to the emerging solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) and solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology. It’s a stabilized nickel-free, high-chromium ferritic stainless steel, offering a perfect match for SOFC and SOEC stacks.

Therma 22FC™ combines:
  • Durability to ensure reliable operation over a long service life
  • Low thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) compatible with ceramic oxide components and sealing materials
  • Corrosion resistance in a dual atmosphere, resistance to hydrogen and other fuel gases such as methane
  • Low and stable electrical resistivity
  • High creep resistance at high temperatures, suitable for cell stacks
  • Resistance to evaporation of elements like chromium
  • Good forming properties

Outokumpu’s new guide provides a detailed overview of Therma 22FC™, including its chemical composition, physical properties, forming and welding behavior and application in interconnector plates.
